Police officer stabbed by a jilted lover in Kasarani, Nairobi

Detectives from the Kasarani police station have launched a manhunt for a woman who allegedly stabbed her ex-lover, a police officer based at Zimmerman police post.

In a statement issued by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Monday, 30-year-old Pamela Njambi is said to have attacked the officer as he was leaving her house on Sunday night after they failed to peacefully resolve their broken relationship.

Narrating the 10pm incident to DCI detectives, the officer said that Njambi had invited him to her house to “rekindle the dying embers of their once blissful relationship” but he informed her that he had since moved on.

Njambi was however dejected by his response and followed him discreetly while he was leaving her residence.

“Upon reaching the gate to the apartment, the woman stabbed the officer with a sharp object before fleeing into darkness,” wrote DCI.

The officer then received help from neighbours who responded to his screams.

“Loud screams by the police corporal of Uuuuui Uuuuuui! Nisaidieni rent the air as the officer sought assistance from well-wishers who responded immediately,” said DCI.

“They rescued him as he bled profusely and rushed him to St John’s hospital where he received first aid before being transferred to a specialized facility within the city for further treatment.”

The officer, who suffered a stab wound in the abdomen, is in stable condition and is under medical watch.

Meanwhile, a manhunt has been launched for Njambi who is still the main suspect.
