Nakuru women rep Lisa Chelule while speaking at Taach FM Morning show (Mesetab Taach) said she was happy that peace was prevailing in Nakuru County even though the county was multi-ethnic

She also highlighted the role of the county MP including supporting women, youth and persons with disability. She said they get support via groups, table banking and that she gives them tents which they can lease for money

“Apart from NGAAF money which cannot be refunded, women reps also manage enterprise fund which is used to support groups but are repaid with a small percentage interest” she said

“In the next financial year I will continue empowering groups through chicken farming, dairy goats and sheep rearing, and also help boda boda youth by buying them umbrellas, helmet and encouraging them to register with groups to get more benefits” she added

She gave an example of a group in Mouche which she gave kshs 60,000 through NGAAF, the group topped up the money with kshs 60,000 which they raised among themselves and bought sheep and she will be launching the project

She also mentioned various groups including those Njoro and Emitik in Kuresoi south doing Bee keeping that have benefited through NGAAF funding. She further highlighted that she has been helping farmers by distributing Avocado seedlings

“I distributed NGAAF funds per ward, in That in Kuresoi south, for example, one ward can get money for table banking another ward get support for PWDs”

When asked about Nakuru Governor She said she cannot teach other leaders how to do their jobs and cannot discuss about them.

She also highlighted the challenges women reps go through especially through funding shortages giving an example of Nakuru County which is geographically large and has a population of more than 1millon people

“People living with disabilities should get registered with help of community leaders like chiefs to enjoy government benefits and this leaders should educate the community. The PWDs should also have unity amongst themselves for growth” she said

She also appeal to parents not to take their anger and frustration at their children giving examples of rising cases as such parents should seek counselling if going through depression.

While discussing the impeachment of former deputy President Rigathi Gachagua she said that Nakuru County was divided with some for some against accusing former DP of gross insubordination and said government should have a structure

“The deputy president should help the presi.dent in delivering government agendas not compete with him. There should also be respect” she said

She added that the president was focusing on uniting Kenyans as seen recently with former Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga Joining Government to Form Broad Based Government.

She also encouraged people to register with SHA and avoid listening to naysayers and propaganda
