Harry Kane heaped praise on new England boss Thomas Tuchel as he claimed the German coach has already settled in after a ‘tough’ win over Latvia.
The Three Lions registered their second consecutive win in the Tuchel era as they beat Latvia 3-0 on monday in their second 2026 world cup Qualifiers . Chelsea captain Reece James handed the hosts the lead in the 38th minute before Harry Kane and Eberechi Eze added to the tally in the second half.
Despite scoring three goals past Latvia, England skipper Kane admitted that they had to work hard to pick up a ‘tough’ victory . The Bayern Munich star also spoke highly of new manager Tuchel as he claimed the German has already settled into his new job.
Speaking to ITV after the game, Kane said: “I think there were more patterns of play, more chances than Friday. But again it was tough, playing against 11 behind the ball. Overall we can be pleased with two wins and two clean sheets. We had to be patient. Thomas Tuchel is fantastic, he has settled in straight away. He is a pleasure to work for, he has brought the passion.”
Tuchel’s men will be back in action after three months as they are scheduled to face Andorra in another World Cup qualifying match on June 7 followed by a friendly match against Senegal on June 10.
